Autism spectrum disorder is a complex developmental disorder affecting an individual’s ability to socially interact, communicate, and increases the likelihood that they engage in repetitive behaviours or have restricted interests. The diagnosis of ASD has relied on measures delivered by trained psychologists and clinicians; no blood or medical test currently exists. However, Ami Klin and his colleague Warren Jones have developed eye tracking technology to diagnose individuals at an earlier age. This Ted Talk, delivered by Klin, gives insight to the development of their technology.

Please note: current ASD rate are now 1 in 68
