Gaining Student Cooperation: The First Step to Learning and Inclusion

POPARD and ACT - Autism Community Training have been working on a number of collaborative initiatives to enhance access to high quality training for educators. POPARD will facilitate group viewings via live web stream of an upcoming workshop for school teams around the province with the help of District Partners (or their delegates) who wish to support this initiative.

PARTICIPATE IN PERSON OR VIA WEB STREAMING

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 25, 2019: Gaining Student Cooperation: The First Step to Learning and Inclusion

Presented by Alexandra Voroshina, MA, BCBA & Georgina Robinson, PhD
at Simon Fraser University – Harbour Centre Campus, Vancouver.

ADVANTAGES TO PARTICIPATING VIA WEB STREAMING

-School teams enjoy watching together and applying concepts to students in their district.
-Staff start the school year inspired by two engaging speakers on an important topic.
-SD’s will save the costs of either bring a speaker to their district or sending their staff to Vancouver.
-This is at no cost to school districts as POPARD is subsidizing registration costs for group registrations.

COMMITMENT REQUIRED FROM SCHOOL DISTRICTS | POPARD DISTRICT PARTNERS

-A primary contact person (either a District Partner or their designate) must commit to organizing the event in their district.
-This is free to district participants watching together from one venue. Each district can include as many SD registrants as they can accommodate at the venue. (The regular rate for one participant is $50 for in person or web streaming).
-School districts are required to submit a School District Registration Form by September 27, 2019.
-School district will provide the venue, a large screen projector and speakers. If the district can access a YouTube video, they will find this equally simple – no special equipment is required.
-School districts will be required to submit a preliminary list of attendees by October 11, 2019.
-ACT will send the password to the POPARD District Partner or their delegate two days before the event.
-Copies of the handout for participants, and refreshments are recommended but not required.
-The POPARD District Partner or their delegate must sign attendees in and out of the group viewing using a POPARD attendance sheet provided by ACT on each day.
-The signed attendance sheet must be submitted to ACT within one week of the conference so that Certificates of Attendance can be provided by ACT to the participants, within two weeks of receiving the attendance sheet.
