Feb 13 & 14, 2020 Self-Regulation Skills for School

A 2-Day POPARD SuperWorkshop

Location: POPARD Training Facility 4750 57 St, Delta BC
Cost: $25

*Registration closes Feb 7th at midnight*

Difficulties with self-regulation are a common challenge for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), significantly impacting learning and behaviour. Self-regulation skills at a young age have been linked to future achievements in school and life, pointing to the importance of prioritizing and teaching this set of skills. In this 2-day interactive super-workshop, participants will: recognize how common challenges associated with ASD impact self-regulation, become familiar with Shanker’s 5 Domain Model of self-regulation, apply evidence-based self-regulation strategies as they analyze case studies, create a planning tool and design goals for their students, and much more!

By the end of this workshop, participants will be equipped with a toolbox of skills and resources to both structure the environment and teach skills to support students’ self-regulatory abilities.
