Printing practice for name

By POPARD

Printing Practice for Name is another task that allows students to work independently using a Work System.
Work Systems allow a student to work independently in the classroom and eventually in work settings.
Please note that tasks for work systems should be directly related to a student’s IEP goals and be able to be independently performed.

Materials you’ll need are:

  • Computer generated template or interlined paper
  • Computer generated template or single-spaced lined paper
  • A variety of forms (See POPARD Functional Curriculum: Personal Awareness Program)

The Student can follow directions given in written and picture form available in the attachment below.
This task can be used for practice printing of single letters from a student’s name, first name, or first and last name.

As well, printing practice should graduate from larger to smaller print spaces, and should include a variety of templates for practice. Eventually, the instructions and trace letters can be faded, and the student can practice writing their name in response to a variety of “Name” prompts.
