Introduction to ASD Virtual FLEX (7-week virtual course)

The ASD virtual FLEX course covers the same content as the in-person 5-day Introduction to ASD course, but is offered over a 7-week period for maximum flexibility to those juggling work and home commitments. Topics include the basics of ASD, individual differences, understanding and changing behaviour, social and communication skills, life skills, and much more!

Participants are given ample time to learn and work with the concepts through a combination of pre-recorded modules and weekly live Zoom sessions (participants must attend all of the live weekly Zoom sessions).

Our instructors use research-based methods of effective adult instruction, including interactive large and small group discussions, application exercises, as well as a variety of ways of evaluating participant learning. The ASD virtual FLEXible 7-week course will prepare participants to apply the concepts and strategies to their instructional program. This course is suitable for teachers, paraprofessionals, and other educational staff.

*NOTE: A desktop or laptop computer, equipped with a webcam and microphone, are required for this course. The course is delivered using Canvas (online learning management system) and Zoom (video-conferencing system).
